Quick Start Guide
Get Notiwise working in 5 minutes. This guide gets you up and running FAST.
What is Notiwise?
Notiwise is your smart calendar assistant that automatically sets perfect reminders based on how important your events are. Add a simple tag to your event, and Notiwise does the rest.
Example: Tag your event Project Deadline @@ and get 6 reminders starting 4 weeks before. Tag it Coffee Chat # and get just 2 reminders.
Step 1: Install Notiwise (2 minutes)
- Visit the installation page:
- Click “Authorize access”
- Select your Google account
- Review the permissions
- Click “Allow”
- Done! Notiwise is now installed.
Need more help? See the detailed Installation guide.
Step 2: Quick Setup (2 minutes)
After installation, you’ll see a welcome screen. Let’s do the minimum setup:
Choose Your Calendars
Check the boxes next to calendars you want Notiwise to monitor:
- ✅ Your main calendar
- ✅ Work calendar (if you have one)
- ⬜ Skip others for now (you can add them later)
Click “Save Configuration”.

Use Default Settings
For now, skip customization:
- Priority tags: Use the defaults (
@@,@,!!,!,##,#) - Reminder times: Use the defaults (morning, midday, afternoon)
You can customize these anytime in Getting Started.
Click “Save All Settings” to finish setup!
Step 3: Add Your First Priority Tag (1 minute)
Now let’s see Notiwise in action!
Create a Test Event
- Open Google Calendar
- Create a new event:
- Title:
Team Meeting !! - Date: Tomorrow
- Time: 10:00 AM
- Title:
- Save the event
What Happens Next
Notiwise will:
- Detect the
!!tag (Medium Prep priority) - Add smart reminders (1 week, 3 days, 1 day, 1 hour before)
- Remove the tag from your title (so it looks clean: “Team Meeting”)
Check back in a few seconds - open your event and you’ll see the reminders added!
Understanding Priority Tags
Here’s your quick reference:
| Tag | Priority | When to Use | Reminders Added |
|---|---|---|---|
@@ |
High Major | Critical meetings, major deadlines | 6 reminders (4 weeks to 1 hour) |
@ |
High Moderate | Important meetings, milestones | 5 reminders (2 weeks to 30 min) |
!! |
Medium Prep | Events needing preparation | 4 reminders (1 week to 1 hour) |
! |
Medium Minimal | Regular meetings | 3 reminders (3 days to 1 hour) |
## |
Low Some Prep | Casual meetings | 3 reminders (5 days to 30 min) |
# |
Low Minimal | Optional events | 2 reminders (2 days to 1 hour) |
That’s it! You’re now using Notiwise.

Quick Tips
💡 Tag Placement: Add tags at the start or end of your event title - both work!
@@Board MeetingorBoard Meeting @@
💡 Tag in Description: You can also hide tags in the event description instead of the title. See Getting Started to enable this.
💡 Multi-Calendar: Notiwise works across ALL your selected calendars automatically.
💡 No Reminders Limit: Google Calendar limits reminders per event, but Notiwise works within those limits intelligently.
