Troubleshooting Installation
Issue: “Add-on not appearing after installation”
Possible Causes:
- Installation didn’t complete
- Browser cache issue
- Google Workspace admin restrictions
Solutions:
- Refresh your browser (Ctrl+R or Cmd+R)
- Try opening the installation link again
- Clear browser cache and cookies
- Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)
- Check with your workspace admin about add-on policies
Still not working? Email [email protected]
Issue: “Permission denied” or “Authorization failed”
Possible Causes:
- Google Workspace admin restrictions
- Third-party app access disabled
- Incorrect account selected
Solutions:
- Make sure you’re using the correct Google account
- Check if third-party apps are enabled:
- Go to myaccount.google.com
- Navigate to Security → Third-party apps
- Ensure apps are allowed
- Contact your workspace admin if using a work account
- Try with a personal Gmail account to test
Issue: Multiple Google accounts logged in same browser
Possible Causes:
- Multiple Google accounts logged into the same browser causing account confusion
- Browser selecting the wrong account during authorization
- Cookie/session conflicts between accounts
Why this happens: When you have multiple Google accounts logged into your browser (personal, work, school), Google may get confused about which account you want to use for Notiwise installation.
Solutions:
Option 1: Use Incognito/Private Mode (Recommended)
- Open an incognito/private browser window
- Sign in to ONLY the Google account you want to use for Notiwise
- Visit the installation link
- Complete installation
- Close incognito window when done
Option 2: Temporarily Sign Out of Other Accounts
- Go to accounts.google.com
- Sign out of all accounts except the one you want to use
- Visit the installation link
- Complete installation
- Sign back into your other accounts when done
Option 3: Use Account Picker
- When the authorization screen appears, look for “Use another account” option
- Manually select the correct account from the list
- Complete authorization with that specific account
How to verify correct account:
- Check the email address shown on the authorization screen
- Make sure it matches the account you want to use for Notiwise
- If wrong account shown, click “Use another account” and select the correct one
Prevention: For future installations or updates, always use incognito mode when you have multiple Google accounts to avoid this issue.
Issue: “Installation times out” or “Page doesn’t load”
Possible Causes:
- Slow internet connection
- Google service temporary issue
- Browser extension interference
- Multiple accounts logged in (see separate issue above)
Solutions:
- Check your internet connection
- Disable browser extensions temporarily
- Try incognito/private mode (especially if you have multiple Google accounts)
- Wait 5-10 minutes and try again (Google services may be temporarily down)
- Try a different browser
