Troubleshooting Installation

Issue: “Add-on not appearing after installation”

Possible Causes:

  • Installation didn’t complete
  • Browser cache issue
  • Google Workspace admin restrictions

Solutions:

  1. Refresh your browser (Ctrl+R or Cmd+R)
  2. Try opening the installation link again
  3. Clear browser cache and cookies
  4. Try a different browser (Chrome recommended)
  5. Check with your workspace admin about add-on policies

Issue: “Permission denied” or “Authorization failed”

Possible Causes:

  • Google Workspace admin restrictions
  • Third-party app access disabled
  • Incorrect account selected

Solutions:

  1. Make sure you’re using the correct Google account
  2. Check if third-party apps are enabled:
  3. Contact your workspace admin if using a work account
  4. Try with a personal Gmail account to test

Issue: Multiple Google accounts logged in same browser

Possible Causes:

  • Multiple Google accounts logged into the same browser causing account confusion
  • Browser selecting the wrong account during authorization
  • Cookie/session conflicts between accounts

Why this happens: When you have multiple Google accounts logged into your browser (personal, work, school), Google may get confused about which account you want to use for Notiwise installation.

Solutions:

Option 1: Use Incognito/Private Mode (Recommended)

  1. Open an incognito/private browser window
  2. Sign in to ONLY the Google account you want to use for Notiwise
  3. Visit the installation link
  4. Complete installation
  5. Close incognito window when done

Option 2: Temporarily Sign Out of Other Accounts

  1. Go to accounts.google.com
  2. Sign out of all accounts except the one you want to use
  3. Visit the installation link
  4. Complete installation
  5. Sign back into your other accounts when done

Option 3: Use Account Picker

  1. When the authorization screen appears, look for “Use another account” option
  2. Manually select the correct account from the list
  3. Complete authorization with that specific account

How to verify correct account:

  • Check the email address shown on the authorization screen
  • Make sure it matches the account you want to use for Notiwise
  • If wrong account shown, click “Use another account” and select the correct one

Prevention: For future installations or updates, always use incognito mode when you have multiple Google accounts to avoid this issue.

Issue: “Installation times out” or “Page doesn’t load”

Possible Causes:

  • Slow internet connection
  • Google service temporary issue
  • Browser extension interference
  • Multiple accounts logged in (see separate issue above)

Solutions:

  1. Check your internet connection
  2. Disable browser extensions temporarily
  3. Try incognito/private mode (especially if you have multiple Google accounts)
  4. Wait 5-10 minutes and try again (Google services may be temporarily down)
  5. Try a different browser

Uninstalling Notiwise

If you need to remove Notiwise:

  1. Go to Google Account Settings:
  2. Find Notiwise:
    • Scroll through the list of connected apps
    • Click on “Notiwise”
  3. Remove Access:
    • Click “Remove Access” button
    • Confirm removal
  4. Data Cleanup (Optional):
    • Before uninstalling, you can clear your settings:
    • Open Notiwise onboarding/settings
    • Use the “Clear All Settings” option (if available)

Result: Notiwise will no longer have access to your account. Your calendar events remain unchanged.
