About Notiwise
Is Notiwise free? Yes. Notiwise is currently free to install and use, closed-source, with no subscription or payment required.
Is this an official Google product? No. Notiwise is a third-party add-on built by Bright Softwares. Google Workspace™, Gmail™, and Google Calendar™ are trademarks of Google LLC.
Does Notiwise read my email? No. Notiwise only requests Google Calendar access — it never asks for Gmail content scopes. This is a deliberate design choice: keeping the requested permissions minimal avoids the more invasive review Google requires for email-content access, and it means there is simply no email data for Notiwise to see in the first place.
Does Notiwise store my calendar data? No. Your settings and priority tags are stored inside your own Google account. Notiwise has no external database and does not collect or retain your calendar data.
Will Notiwise move or rewrite my meetings? No, never. Notiwise only sends smarter, better-timed reminders — it does not create, edit, move, or delete any calendar event. If you have used an AI scheduler that rewrites your calendar, Notiwise is intentionally the opposite of that: your schedule stays exactly as you built it.
Using Notiwise
How do priority tags work?
Add a marker to an event’s title or description — @@ or !! for your highest priority down to # for low priority. Notiwise uses the tag to decide how far in advance and how insistently to remind you. You can also customize which symbols map to which priority level.
How fast will I see it working? Tag one upcoming event, and you should get your first smart reminder for it well before the meeting starts — most users see their first optimized reminder within minutes of tagging their first event, not after some setup wizard.
Does it work across multiple calendars? Yes. Notiwise can monitor several Google Calendars at once and apply your priority rules consistently across all of them.
Does it work with Outlook or Apple Calendar? Not yet. Notiwise currently supports Google Calendar only. Outlook and Apple Calendar are possibilities we are evaluating for later, but there is no committed timeline — we would rather say that honestly than promise a date we might miss.
Can I turn a specific reminder off without losing my other settings? Yes — remove the priority tag from that one event’s title/description and Notiwise will leave it alone; your tags and settings on every other event are untouched.
Trust & Support
Why should I trust an add-on with Calendar access? Because the access it asks for is deliberately narrow (Calendar only, never Gmail content), and because nothing it does is destructive — worst case, a reminder fires at a slightly wrong time; it can never reschedule or delete a meeting on your behalf.
I found a bug or have a question that isn’t answered here — what do I do? Email [email protected] with a description of what happened (and a screenshot if it’s visual). We read every message ourselves.
Where can I read the full terms and privacy details? See the Notiwise Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy for the complete legal text behind the answers above.
